Cardiac Cath Lab |
In today’s market of qualified staff shortages and increasing procedures, healthcare facilities are constantly seeking a viable option in training employees to staff their cardiac catheterization laboratories. The Healthworks Cath Lab program provides the essential education in a fast-track module that is necessary to cross-train healthcare professionals into the field of cardiovascular medicine, specifically diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization. Program modules of this series focus on cardiovascular topics that are essential for successful transition into the cardiac cath lab from ICU, CCU and other department settings.
The Scope of Practice as outlined by the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals is utilized as a template for identifying the skill set that is required for successful transition into the various roles assigned within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. |
Electrophysiology |
The area of cardiac electrophysiology (EP) is experiencing constant growth in hospital laboratories today. This course teaches the employee essential fundamental knowledge in a fast-track module that is necessary to successfully cross-train into the field of cardiovascular medicine, specifically diagnostic and interventional Electrophysiologic studies. These didactic programs offer courses such as:
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Conduction System
- Electrocardiograms
- Pacemakers
- Defibrillators
- Cardiac cycle
- Basic and Advanced EP studies
- Bi-ventricular Pacing
- intracardiac EKG

Interventional Radiology |
Need to cross-train employees to fulfill your staffing requirements in your interventional radiology department? This course employs a fast-track module that is aimed at cross-training healthcare professionals with a background in invasive modalities. Candidates successfully completing this program will be trained to specialize in invasive procedures utilizing the guidance of various imaging systems. The American Society of Radiologic Technology’s Cardiac/Interventional Radiology curriculum will be referenced as a template for identifying the various course materials that are necessary for successful transition into the interventional radiology-specials laboratory environment. |

Continuing Education |

Our professional staff has prepared quality in-services for hospitals and offices with or without continuing education units. This provides a cost-effective alternative to national conferences and provides your staff with the CEUs they need. |
Employee Orientation |
We pride ourselves in orienting new employees in a variety of healthcare areas. Healthworks will come to your facility and supply your employees with the didactic information they need to begin working as part of the healthcare team. Our staff can also provide educational in-services in a large classroom setting for your hospital or office staff. |
Competency-based Training |
Our organization will perform the time consuming task of obtaining Competency testing annually for your staff. We have the ability to maintain the documentation that JCAHO accreditation requires. Our staff has developed multiple choice testing and can develop testing portfolio to meet your needs. |
Custom Programs |
Under our Educational Services contract, Healthworks personnel may provide customer-specific or consultative services on an as requested basis. Assistance may be in the pursuit of writing/updating policy and procedure manuals, performing Registry Review evaluations and seminars, performing operational efficiencies evaluations, or as a design team member in planning a renovated or new Cath Lab Specials Suite. Rates can be negotiated on an hourly or fixed fee contract basis. |
